Croda, which uses smart science to create, manufacture and sell specialty chemicals, has announced a new \u00a32 million fund dedicated to healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Croda science touches and enhances the lives of everyone, with a strong focus on supporting the communities in which it operates. As part of its commitment to becomingPeople Positive<\/em>\"The company has decided to set up a corporate foundation to benefit organizations, projects and communities around the world by 2030.<\/p>

The Croda Foundation succeeded in obtaining charitable status at the end of 2021. It allocates funds to vital livelihood and community projects and aims to increase its impact worldwide, including new grants dedicated to vaccination and health infrastructure projects. Working in partnership with the Croda Foundation, Croda will support the achievement of the Foundation's charitable objectives, working with communities, organizations and charities, and providing access to people, know-how and capital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To date, the foundation has donated almost \u00a31 million of the \u00a32 million allocated to the health fund to support projects in South Asia, Africa and Brazil that are expected to improve the lives of over 50 million people. The fund finances projects that :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Improve vaccination coverage and infrastructure in disadvantaged communities in five Indian states, all of which have a high incidence of COVID-19 and low vaccination rates; train 22,300 people, staffing 3,700 vaccination centers and enabling more than 50 million people to be vaccinated.<\/li>
  • Provide infrastructure and training for 1,000 rural health professionals and 500 front-line staff in 20 Ugandan provinces to improve the health and well-being of nearly 750,000 people.<\/li>
  • Dispelling vaccine hesitancy through education and digital inclusion, helping 7,400 people in 10 indigenous tribes in Brazil's Mato Grosso state.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The foundation is planning other projects, and all employees can already vote to nominate an association or project for support.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
