Silab, world leader in the engineering of natural active ingredients, opens a new biotechnology laboratory, more ergonomic and better sized to meet strong demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A year after commissioning a second production line that quadrupled the production capacity of its yeasts, microalgae and bacteria, Silab is now dedicating a new, larger space to its biotechnology research laboratory, equipped with the latest technological advances. \"\u00a0This new layout was necessary to support the growing business generated by increased customer demand for biotech products.<\/em>\u00a0It is part of an overall program of 9 million euros invested over the last three years in biotechnologies, alongside industrial projects such as <\/em>\"comments Xavier Gaillard, Silab's Deputy Managing Director for Strategy.<\/p>

The means are thus put in place to continue exploring the immense potential of various micro-organisms in order to develop innovative biotechnological raw materials for the production of high value-added natural active ingredients. Brigitte Closs-Gonthier, Silab's Deputy Managing Director for Innovation, adds: \"\u00a0We decided very early on to make biotechnologies a major strategic development focus, because we believe they represent a powerful lever for innovation. Indeed, the diversity of micro-organisms opens up an immense field of possibilities. Biomimetic approaches also make it possible to develop novel processes, such as bioguidance. This is a field in which much remains to be discovered, and which offers exciting prospects for the development of innovative new active molecules.<\/em> \"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the internalization of all stages, from the research phase to the industrialization of micro-organisms, Silab offers ever more innovative biotechnological solutions, meeting today's major challenges of security, traceability and respect for the environment (sustainability of supplies).
