Paparella-Paris, Symrise's senior perfumer, has been awarded this high distinction for his entire career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year, the Fran\u00e7ois Coty Association spotlights a perfumer-creator with a strong olfactory universe that still resonates today with the spirit of the father of modern perfumery. On November 28, the 15the<\/sup>Fran\u00e7ois Coty Prize ceremony, presided over by V\u00e9ronique Coty, great-granddaughter of Fran\u00e7ois Coty, at the Lut\u00e9tia, one of Paris's most emblematic establishments.<\/p>

For the first time in its history, this distinction is now open to perfumers from all over the world. Philippe Paparella-Paris, Symrise's senior perfumer based in S\u00e2o Paulo (Brazil), was honored for a lifetime of achievement with the famous trophy designed by
Ren\u00e9 Lalique in 1927, the iconic Bacchantes vase. The perfumer was chosen by a jury of seven renowned perfumers, all of whom have received the same award since its inception in 2000: \u00c9milie Coppermann, Sophie Labb\u00e9, Shyamala Maisondieu, Alberto Morillas, Fabrice Pellegrin, Dominique Ropion and Maurice Roucel, and chaired by one of the world's leading bottle designers, Pierre Dinand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philippe Paparella-Paris admits that he has always had the soul of a chemist who loved to mix things. His grandmother was his accomplice, buying him essential oils so that he could create his first eaux de Cologne. It was at the age of 15 that he decided to become a perfumer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A globe-trotting perfumer, Philippe Paparella-Paris likes to work all over the world, requiring an open mind and the ability to challenge himself regularly. Even if he doesn't consider himself to have his own style, he is more inclined towards the notes of the world.
