A term following four years as president
Michele Bianchi, CEO of RDM Group, is stepping down as chairman after a four-year term. During this time, Pro Carton led to the integration of another cardboard association and expanded its scope of action as an organization covering more aspects of the industry.
Industrial Profile and Responsibilities
With more than 20 years of experience in the forestry and cardboard industry, Andreas Birmoser has held executive positions in Europe and South America, including the role of CEO of Veracel Celulose. At Stora Enso, he is in charge of the global cardboard business.
In his remarks, Andreas Birmoser emphasizes the importance of sectoral cooperation: «It is a true honor for me to serve as president of Pro Carton, especially at such a crucial time for our industry.»

As president, Andreas Birmoser will work with the Pro Carton board to strengthen collaboration across the value chain, promote fiber-based packaging, and maintain a science- and fact-based voice in regulatory decisions and competitiveness.
Next key milestone for the industry: Discussions and adjustments regarding the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) remain a regulatory context referenced in the association’s appointment and recent activities.
