Aptar Beauty highlights its compatibility with products such as dry shampoos, glitter sprays, shimmer mists, root touch-ups, makeup setting sprays, body deodorants, foot powders, glitter paints, and insect repellents.
3.5 mm shank and straight shank: minimize clogging
The 3.5-mm stem design addresses functional issues observed in standard valves, such as stem seal flexing during actuation and powder buildup. The straight barrel system reduces these stresses and wipes away residue with each use to stabilize flow and prevent propellant leaks. «We are addressing one of the recurring challenges of powder-rich formulations—valve clogging—with a solution that improves consistency and reliability for our customers.», explains Ryan Kenny, president of Aptar Beauty North America.
Locally produced in Cary, Illinois
Manufacturing in the United States, now available at the Cary, Illinois, facility, reduces lead times and speeds up time to market. Kenny explains: «Manufacturing the AAT valve in the United States enables us to offer shorter lead times, greater responsiveness, and increased supply chain flexibility.» This industrial proximity is intended to enable faster launches of aerosol products subject to high particulate loads.
Compatible Actuators and E-commerce Options
AAT is compatible with several Aptar Beauty actuators. Tina, featuring a twist-to-lock mechanism and a double-click signal, enhances reliability in e-commerce and can reduce resin usage by up to 55 % compared to a standard actuator/overcap combination. Meridian, WS25, WS30, WS40, and WS55 caps, as well as WAZ and XL400 buttons, are available for precise control. Matte or glossy finishes, with customizable colors, are available.
Several products comply with the Ista-6 Overbox tests or are currently undergoing testing, depending on container formats and formulations. This valve-actuator assembly expands the range of applications for powder and shimmer aerosols in beauty and personal care, while addressing the logistical challenges associated with e-commerce distribution.
