Gattefossé consolidates its presence in India

New facilities in Bombay inaugurated on November 15, 2024: Gattefossé invests in India to support growth in a key market for the Group's business development.

In India, the boom in the pharmaceutical sector - driven by government support and a strong commitment to scientific innovation - and the growth of the beauty and cosmetics market offer numerous opportunities for local and international companies.

"We recognize India's leading role in the global market for generic and super-generic medicines, as well as its status as an export hub to key regions such as the USA and Europe. With its strong science and technology base and vast talent pool, India is ideally positioned to forge strategic partnerships with international companies. India also plays a central role in manufacturing, R&D and clinical trials. Furthermore, in the booming cosmetics market, where demand for multifunctional, biodegradable products is constantly increasing, Gattefossé stands out for its innovative ingredients and lipid-based solutions offering proven benefits. We are committed to helping brands meet changing consumer expectations, particularly in the dynamic Asia-Pacific region.says Eduardo de Purgly, Managing Director of the Gattefossé Group.

A new, bigger and better state-of-the-art applications laboratory

Gattefossé has a local technical center with laboratories dedicated to pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. The mission of the "Technical Center

d'excellence" officially inaugurated on November 15, 2024: meeting customer needs on a local, regional and global scale by developing innovative applications for Gattefossé excipients.

The projects carried out in this laboratory aim to offer concrete support to customers, helping them to solve their formulation challenges and offering practical guides for the optimal use of excipients.

In pharmaceuticals, this FDA-accredited laboratory (Food Drug Administration) focuses on sustained-release formulations, improved bioavailability and topical applications. In cosmetics, it develops cosmetic products and specific formulas for skin care, hair care, sun care and make-up corresponding to local needs and trends.

Workshops, lipid training courses and seminars are regularly organized by Gattefossé experts to share their knowledge.

"Our Technical Center of Excellence reflects our commitment to innovation and to meeting the complex requirements of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. We work closely with our customers, whether to develop prototypes of generic and super-generic formulations or to improve prescribed cosmetic products, emphasizes Sunil Bambarkar, Managing Director, Gattefossé India. We are convinced that, thanks to our sustained growth and the commitment of our team of highly qualified professionals, we [Gattefossé India] will continue to develop. Together, we will strengthen our support, not only for the evolving Indian market, but also for other subsidiaries around the world."

Certified sustainable premises

Gattefossé India's new facilities, designed according to sustainable principles, have been awarded Platinum certification by the IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) certification, rewarding their energy efficiency and responsible management of resources and waste. They are also Well-certified, in recognition of their efforts to improve the health and well-being of occupants through criteria such as air quality, lighting and indoor environmental comfort.

Gattefossé's construction project is part of a long-term growth strategy aligned with its CSR approach, Gatt'Up & Act, which aims to respond sustainably to the needs of the environment and the market.
