Quadpack Wood celebrates 25 years of machining and producing wood packaging, with single-material mechanical technologies and processes powered by 100 % of renewable electricity.
Quadpack Wood is celebrating 25 years of activity dedicated to wood for the cosmetics sector, and boasts expertise covering closures, bottles and compact cases, integrated into the Quadpack group since 2013.
Woodacity: wood as a single-material mechanism
After two years of development with Shiseido, Quadpack Wood has patented Woodacity technology, which transforms wood into a single-material mechanical solution for closures. The technology gives wood precision mechanical performance and eliminates the need for intermediate materials in closures.
Upmarket and perfume/make-up applications
Production began on brand projects, from the first wooden cap for Burberry Touch for Women, to an all-wood perfume bottle for L'Eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake. Woodacity has evolved into Woodacity Hidden, a version that completely conceals the internal structure of the mechanism, used on Guerlain's Habit Rouge Spirit. A single-material cork and collar version was developed in collaboration with Puig for Adolfo Dominguez's ADN line.
Wood has also made its mark in make-up: for Guerlain's Terracotta collection, Quadpack Wood developed compact wooden cases combining precision machining and decorative finishes. The BeautyWood 2026 collection illustrates these turning, CNC milling and advanced decoration capabilities.
Production processes are based on 100 % renewable electricity and a biomass boiler that valorizes production offcuts for thermal systems and drying kilns. Wood is sourced from sustainably managed European forests, and the plant is FSC and Pefc certified.
Denisa Stircea, Senior Category Specialist, explains: «We are extremely proud to have pioneered the wood category in beauty packaging.»
The industrial roadmap mentions an increase in decoration capacity and a reduction in machining constraints, opening the way to new technical configurations for circular packaging.
The next product milestone identified in the source is the enhancement of the BeautyWood 2026 range as a showcase for tactile decoration techniques and complex geometries, to expand design possibilities while maintaining a single-material approach.
