L'Oréal announces the acquisition of an additional 10 % of the capital of Galderma Group AG with a consortium led by EQT, including Sunshine SwissCo GmbH, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Auba Investment Pte. Ltd. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
This transaction brings L'Oréal's stake in Galderma to 20 %. Two Group representatives will join the Board of Directors from 2026, replacing the members of the outgoing consortium.
This acquisition illustrates L'Oréal's strategic interest in the beauty market. « Aesthetics is a strategic area related to our core business, beauty, which we are determined to explore. Our initial strategic investment in Galderma, made in 2024, has proved to be a great success, which is why we are keen to consolidate and extend this partnership even further. »says Nicolas Hieronimus, Managing Director of L'Oréal.
Galderma is delighted with this renewed support. « Galderma continues to demonstrate impressive growth, strong innovation and category leadership, supported by an extensive scientific portfolio. By strengthening our commercial execution, broadening our platform and offering, and adopting a more consumer-oriented approach, we are rapidly evolving into a major player in dermatology. The increase in L'Oréal's shareholding confirms our direction and the potential for value creation that we anticipate. In 2026, we will remain fully focused on our integrated dermatology strategy and on serving our customers, consumers and patients. »says Dr Flemming Ørnskov, Managing Director of Galderma.
Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
