With its constantly evolving machinery, Verpack has recently opted for a state-of-the-art offset press. This significant investment positions the group to meet the growing demand from brands for short-run boxes and cases. Based on initial developments, the Heidelberg Anicolor promises to be a flexible, cost-effective solution that is also more environmentally friendly.
Well-known for its offset expertise, the Verpack Group is now exploiting its resources and extending its range of services. For the past few weeks, it has been testing Heidelberg's Speedmaster XL 75 Anicolor, whose functionality opens up new opportunities in this printing technique.
An agile, responsible solution
While the traditional offset model is perfectly suited to large print runs that justify the time needed to set up the machine and develop the color required for luxury products, it's a different story for short runs.
To meet the growing demand of this short-run market and its expectations of rapid development, the Verpack Group has chosen to invest in targeted equipment.
Thanks to its flexibility and rapid makeready, this Anicolor machine reduces waste and set-up times. Its inking technique facilitates color searches and guarantees stable renderings, whatever the substrate, the ink used and the sophistication of the decor (metallic inks, special colors, UV varnishes, etc.).
"We made the bold choice of multichromy".
"Thanks to the machine's stability, we'll eventually be able to consider multichromy, the best compromise between the quality and productivity of offset and the specific features of digital, which is most often used to produce mock-ups," explains Hubert de Maistre, director of Verpack Bordeaux.
"This hybrid printing technique perfectly meets our customers' specifications for short and medium runs. We offer them a fast, cost-effective solution with the same quality as offset, but with a more environmentally-friendly positioning. Our choice is certainly a bold one, but we have no doubt that this machine, with its resources, will enable us to increase our sales in this type of market" adds Stéphane Viers, Group Chairman.
"At Heidelberg, we're very proud to have extended our long-standing collaboration with the Verpack Group to this partnership around such an innovation. After offset presses, die-cutting, gluing and sorting machines, the choice of the Anicolor marks a decisive step which, I'm sure, will set Verpack apart from its competitors. With the Anicolor 50 x 70 in multichrome UV technology, Verpack becomes a real technological showcase for us, the first in France", comments Cai von Rumohr, President of Heidelberg France.
