BASF presents two new cosmetic actives at in-cosmetics Global: NeoHelix Regenerate and SkinNexus Collag3n.
BASF announced the launch of two new cosmetic actives, NeoHelix Regenerate and SkinNexus Collag3n, at in-cosmetics Global in Paris. These innovations reflect an integrated approach to skin rejuvenation. NeoHelix Regenerate is a precision peptide that enhances the skin's natural repair mechanisms for adaptive collagen renewal. At the same time, SkinNexus Collag3n redefines the concept of collagen banking by introducing a bio-identical collagen III fragment.
NeoHelix Regenerate: an intelligent peptide for skin regeneration
NeoHelix Regenerate represents a significant advance in the field of targeted skin rejuvenation. This peptide is designed not only to support collagen, but also to reinforce the skin's communication and self-repair mechanisms, which are essential in the face of the effects of time and daily stress. In fact, it is particularly active in damaged areas of the skin.
An in vivo study measured the efficacy of NeoHelix Regenerate on biopsies from five women aged 60-70, demonstrating a 41 % reduction in damaged collagen after 56 days of application. In addition, levels of hyaluronic acid in the body increased by 65 % over the same period. Results also indicated visible improvements in skin thickness, tone and forehead wrinkles, outperforming a competing peptide benchmark.
SkinNexus Collag3n: a new approach to collagen banking
With SkinNexus Collag3n, BASF introduces a recombinant collagen III fragment, responding to growing consumer interest in proactive collagen banking solutions. This ingredient is obtained using a biotechnological yeast fermentation process, and is distinguished from traditional products by its 100 % sequence, identical to that of human collagen.
In a 3D dermis model, SkinNexus Collag3n promoted an environment conducive to collagen balance, showing respective increases of +48 % collagen I, +82 % collagen III and +71 % collagen V. In clinical studies with women aged 53 to 70, topical application measured improvements in skin tone and a visible reduction in wrinkles after four weeks, outperforming a market collagen benchmark used at ten times the concentration.
