CFIC Awards, the winner in the "Ingredients with environmental and social added value" category is...

Py'still won an award for its Hamamelis concentrated hydrosol [10:1] in the "Ingredients with environmental and social added value" category.

Cosmos-certified, from a unique organic production chain on Py'still agroforestry estate, this is sustainable, organic production with a 100 % renewable energy mix, reducing CO₂ emissions, allowing transport-related emissions to be cut by up to 40 times.

"Hamamelis Virginiana Water is a unique Pyrenean product grown in Agroforestry, without inputs, without irrigation COSMOS-Certified 100% after 1/10 dilution. As part of this "Cradle to Gate" LCA, our concentrated product is compared with the average market standard for a Hamamelis hydrosol. At process level Py'stillThe fact that we grow our own crops (no inputs, no irrigation) gives us an undeniable advantage. Electricity consumption is controlled and 100% renewable, with a predominantly hydroelectric energy mix (an advantage for our site in a mountainous area). Our only fossil fuel consumption is natural gas, which is used to boil our hydrodistillation system. Equipped with a high-performance boiler and located in Bagnères de Bigorre at an altitude of 516 meters, the calorific output tends towards the optimum, which translates into -47 % of fossil resources. The cooling water used for condensation is returned cleanly to the Adour basin. Combined with the absence of irrigation, this means -87% less water used.say the designers.

Py'still will be exhibiting at CFIC, stand C77, on December 3rd and 4th in Orléans.
