Cosmed has published an English version of its practical guide on compiling the Product Information File (PIF). The guide details the product description, the safety report, the dossier in accordance with Annex I, the manufacturing method in compliance with good manufacturing practices, and evidence supporting the claimed effects.
The guide outlines the steps and required documentation for each product: product description, safety report, dossier in accordance with Annex I, and manufacturing method compliant with good manufacturing practices. It also covers CPNP notification, the management of serious adverse events, and traceability during an inspection.
The English version is primarily intended for European subsidiaries, foreign manufacturers, and importers who wish to place cosmetic products on the European Union market in compliance with regulations. «The DIP is not just an administrative formality: it is the cornerstone of product safety and access to the European market.», says Jean-Marc Giroux, president of Cosmed.
