Cosmetic Valley steps up its environmental commitment at the Cosmetic Environment & Safety conference

The Cosmetic Environment & Safety conference was held on July 1, 2025, in Louviers. The theme of this 4th edition: water management, eco-design and safety at the heart of industrial issues in the cosmetics sector.

The aim of Cosmetic Valley, the organizer, is to unite players around concrete technical and scientific solutions to meet environmental challenges and ensure a sustainable future for the industry.

This year's edition of the Cosmetic Environment & Safety conference focused on eco-design, environmental impact assessment and the preservation of water resources, a crucial element in the manufacture of cosmetic products. Fifteen conferences explored action levers at every stage of the industrial process: water management, packaging recycling, circular economy, use of bio-sourced ingredients...

On this occasion, the results of the Improve-Pack project were unveiled. Conducted from 2023 to 2025 with partner Normasys, this research program aims to evaluate and improve packaging systems in the Seine Valley cosmetics industry. The deliverables, including a study of the packaging ecosystem, a white paper and scientific publications, will be made available to manufacturers to support the sector's environmental transition.

In line with this commitment, Cosmetic Valley has launched a call for expressions of interest (AMI) on the theme of water. The aim is to identify innovative solutions for better preserving, managing or recycling this key resource in cosmetics production. The AMI is open until September 15, 2025.
