Gattefossé has approved eight ingredients at its Lufkin facility

Already certified EXCiPACT (BPF/GMP) for excipients and EFfCI For cosmetic ingredients, the U.S. facility processes these eight products using the same analytical methods and regulatory requirements as the legacy facilities. Each ingredient has a technical equivalence dossier that includes analytical validations, stability data, and regulatory documentation. «The validation of our first ingredients manufactured in Lufkin marks an important milestone in the development of our industrial portfolio.», explains Ben Blinder, director of Gattefossé USA.

Three pharmaceutical excipients manufactured in Lufkin

The facility now manufactures Peceol, which is used as a lipid carrier and solubilizer for lipophilic active ingredients in oral and topical formulations. Compritol 888 is positioned as a benchmark excipient for modified-release technologies and lipid matrices. Geleol Mono and Diglycerides NF is described as a multifunctional excipient, serving as both a lipid carrier and a modified-release agent for oral, topical, and semisolid formulations. These products expand the production of lipid excipients in the United States. Capacity and proximity are key considerations.

Five cosmetic ingredients approved for local production

Emulium Mellifera MB, a natural oil-in-water emulsifier, is known for its adaptability to different skin types and its texture. Compritol 888 CG MB acts as a multifunctional texturizing agent, improving consistency, thickening the oil phase, and enhancing stability. Emulium Delta MB, an oil-in-water emulsifier, offers broad formulation flexibility and a soft feel. Plurol Diisostearic CG, a water-in-oil emulsifier, is suitable for makeup and sunscreens. LAS MB is a nonionic surfactant intended for skin and hair care products, including creams, lotions, wipes, and microemulsions.

Industrial Regionalization and Service Continuity in the Americas

The Texas facility strengthens the global manufacturing network by increasing capacity, diversifying manufacturing sources, and improving service continuity across the Americas. The company emphasizes consistent quality across all sites. «By localizing the production of strategic lipid excipients in the United States, we are directly addressing our partners» expectations regarding supply chain resilience and security in an increasingly uncertain global environment.”, says Blinder.

Gattefossé relies on four technical centers of excellence located in the United States (Paramus, New Jersey), France, India, and China. This organization combines expertise in lipid chemistry with local technical support to accelerate the development of formulations and meet the specific needs of local markets.
