SNF presents Natursol BioSeven, a biodegradable cationic polymer for rinse-off formulations.
SNF unveiled Natursol BioSeven at in-cosmetics 2026. This cationic polymer represents a significant innovation for hair and body care formulations, combining conditioning performance with an improved environmental profile. Natursol BioSeven is an alternative to the polyquaterniums commonly used in shampoos and shower gels. This polymer boasts a biodegradability level in excess of 60 % in 28 days (OECD 301F), a criterion increasingly taken into account when selecting raw materials. Protected by patent, it has been designed to meet today's formulation constraints, notably in terms of compatibility with a wide range of surfactant systems and robustness under industrial processing conditions.
Designed specifically for foaming systems, Natursol BioSeven offers functional benefits expected in hair and skin care applications, including:
- Hair conditioning: improves detangling performance, especially on fine hair, without build-up. - Skin comfort: contributes to a pleasant feel after rinsing. - Lather quality: promotes the formation of fine, dense, stable lather.
This polymer can be incorporated into various cleansing bases (shampoos, shower gels, facial cleansers), showing good tolerance to pH variations and electrolytes, thus facilitating its incorporation into existing formulations.
