Position indicators: new wireless system

Product - Industry

Elesa launches the new DD52R-E-RF position indicator.

The new wireless positioning system, designed for efficient manual shaft positioning, includes a UC-RF control unit for driving up to 36 DD52R-E-RF electronic indicators (Elesa patent).

In most cases, machine configuration is carried out manually, using traditional mechanical indicators coupled to handwheels or cranks, following a specific list of installation parameters.

capture390- Industrial processes - Product infoThe new DD52R-E-RF electronic position indicators are networked via the UC-RF control unit by radio frequency (RF). This system is particularly suited to applications requiring frequent format changes, making it easier to set the correct target / current position of machine parts. They also offer a guarantee of safety, as the PLC will not allow the production cycle to start if an indicator is not in the target position, thus avoiding production rejects.

System installation is quick and easy, as no connection cables are required between the control unit and the indicators.

Thanks to the available functions and programmable parameters, a single element can be used for a wide range of applications, including all shaft pitch variations, direction of rotation and unit of measurement.

  • The 6-digit display ensures excellent readability even at a distance and from different viewing angles.
  • High degree of protection IP65 or IP67 for applications requiring frequent washing, even with intense water jets.
  • Corrosion-resistant: AISI 304 stainless steel bushing Ø 20 mm.
  • Battery life: over 3 years.

Augros in the top 5 of Prestige packaging companies

Cosmetic industry - Packaging and labeling

With growth exceeding 20% last year, Augros Cosmetic Packaging confirms its position as one of the "TOP 5" French packaging companies specializing in the perfume, luxury cosmetics and high-end wines and spirits markets.
The family-run company, which celebrates its centenary this year, has announced an ambitious action plan and major investments to provide a complete, integrated service, including design, plastic injection and surface treatment.

A new sputtering metallization line followed by a new automated lacquering line, all at a cost of 3 million euros.
The company is committed to continuous technical improvement. A pioneer in innovative tailor-made solutions, it confirms its sustainable commitment with an advanced CSR program shared by all, and the project to move from "Ecovadis Silver" to "Ecovadis Gold".

A new sales director, Rodolphe Benouville, formerly founder of the French subsidiary of Cavalieri & Amoretti, specialists in the manufacture of boxes and assembled round tins for perfumery, cosmetics, luxury foods and spirits, joined the group in March.

Launches and innovations

The first quarter of 2019 was peppered with many new products, including the new Mercedes-Benz line for INCC Parfums, with a tailor-made, global development: specific color and push-button assembled automatically. The project involved the Group's two sites (Plasturgie in Alençon and surface treatment in Le Theil).

In the make-up sector, Dior's "d'Ultra Rouge" décor is particularly noteworthy, with a particularly demanding, complex lacquer finish on the aluminum case produced by Tesem. Also worthy of mention is Clarins' "Alien" line, produced in eight variations, not forgetting the Sisley group's flagship, a solid PMMA pot with interior lacquering, cap and white laser engraving...

A hundred years of history to celebrate!

In 1919, Augros began as a small workshop manufacturing steel buckles for the fashion industry on rue Oberkampf. In the 1960s, under the impetus of the founder's son, Jacques Augros, the company turned to plastics processing and became one of the pioneers of the revolution in glass stoppers for perfume bottles, with the famous "Plast-Emeri" technique developed with glassmaker Pochet du Courval, a technique that was followed by the "Opercule" system used by leading brands.
The first steps in plastics processing were a success, with the development and manufacture of Paco Rabanne's first men's line featuring the opercule system, followed by Azzaro pour Homme, Armani, Tiffany and others.

Didier Bourgine, who has run the company since 2001, has built the company's development on three industrial pillars: specialization in made-to-measure luxury goods, flexible process automation and total quality.
Today, the Alençon site is considered one of the most automated units in the sector, with an internal scrap rate of less than 1.5%. This year, the company's centenary will be marked by a series of celebrations and events.

Our participation in the Places d'Or awards, with the presentation of a centenary object - an innovative collector's item currently in the making - will round off this rich year. Designed by one of the industry's leading designers, the object will reflect the perpetual creativity of the profession, the full range of the company's know-how, and will symbolize this milestone for Augros Cosmetic Packaging.

Cosfibel Group strengthens its position with new partnerships

Company - Positioning

Cosfibel recently signed three partnership agreements to round out its product ranges and bring its sourcing activities closer to European customers.

Cosfibel becomes the exclusive representative in France and Benelux of Tendero, a company headed by Dario Juan and specializing in rigid cardboard boxes for the fashion, beauty, Wine&Spirits and Fine foods markets.
Tendero, located in Alicante, has 8 automatic lines and should achieve sales of 9 million Euros in 2019. This new industrial capacity will complement Grumbe's range of plastic folding cartons and cases, which in turn has just invested in a cardboard folding and gluing line.

Cosfibel has also signed a long-term exclusivity agreement with the Franco-Tunisian group La Soie, a recognized specialist in spinning, knitting and sewing. La Soie is headed by David Lebard and generates sales of around €15 million.
This agreement will enable Cosfibel to develop its catalog of textile and accessory products in its three markets Beauty, Wine&Spirits and Fine food, and will bring its Bags and Accessories activities closer to its main customers.

Finally, Cosfibel has also signed a long-term exclusivity agreement with Groupe HPC, headed and founded by Mouldi Attia. This group is a specialist in plastic injection molding and will be an exclusive contact for developing sourcing activities in Tunisia.

On this occasion, HPC Tunis becomes the twentieth Urban Network®in the world to develop sales in the Maghreb.

Jean Bal Thermoformage invests 1 million euros in its production tool

Louis Vuitton - Chanel

Jean Bal (30 people, €5 million sales), a mold and plastics maker since 1988, designs and manufactures thermoformed packaging and packaging components. A key player for luxury goods manufacturers, the specialist's business has been driven over the past 3 years by new markets (industrial handling and consumer goods). To support its development and production capacity, Jean Bal has invested 1 million euros in its production facilities, building and machinery. After 6 months' work, the official inauguration will take place on Friday April 13, in the form of an open day.

Every year, some 30 million thermoformed packagings and trays leave the Jean Bal workshops, destined for French and international markets. To meet a production capacity increase of around 30 % in 3 years, the manufacturer has created 650 m2 additional floor space in the second half of 2018 (for a total of 3,000 m2 of buildings). At a cost of 510,000 euros, these works have enabled us to expand the production area with the integration of a new thermoforming machine, to obtain additional storage capacity and to create new offices.
These investments in equipment and human resources should enable Jean Bal to achieve sales of 6 million euros in the medium term.

A new dimension to serve new markets

The luxury industry (perfumes, cosmetics, spirits) currently represents 50 % of the company's business. This is a long-standing sector requiring a high level of expertise, and one for which Jean Bal develops innovative and original solutions.
Industry now accounts for 40 % of business. Jean Bal is particularly in demand for the design of recyclable trays for internal and external transport of industrial parts and components. A wide range of design principles are available (self-supporting trays, trays on parts, stackable trays, 180° turn-around trays, etc.), etc) with a wide choice of transparent and opaque materials, as well as ESD solutions for electronics.
Last but not least, the mass market players are new interlocutors for the manufacturer (10 % of sales). Blisters and food packaging are thermoformed in plastic, with a growing tendency to combine materials (wood or cardboard with eco-designed transparent plastic).

Investment in production facilities
Every year, Jean Bal designs some 350 aluminum molds in his design office. For several months now, prototypes have been modeled using a state-of-the-art 3D scanner. These molds, machined in-house using high-speed machining centers, are then identically duplicated using the same process and the same tooling. All this to guarantee perfect reproducibility of the parts to be put into production. To this end, a new high-speed machining center has also recently been delivered.

A new production line

A faster, more energy-efficient Illig RV74D thermoformer was installed in the first quarter of 2019. Investment: 410,000 euros. The thermoforming team now manages 9 optimized lines in various formats for thin and thick sheets.
Jean Bal mainly processes PS, flocked PS, coated or decorated PS, EPS PE, PVC, PET, recycled APET or RPET. Shapes, materials, colors, feel and functionality all depend on the desired finish and application.

Texen develops a compact case for Clarins' solar innovation

In its 2019 suncare range, Clarins presents a nomadic case for which the brand has sealed a close collaboration with Texen Beauty Partners.
Its tinted formula, with a fluid, fine, light texture and a dry, velvety finish, gives all skin types a luminous, tanned complexion and effectively protects them from the sun and free radicals.
This compact case slips easily into a handbag for touch-ups in all circumstances. Screen-printed, it contains a mirror in its lid, and a tray for collecting the formula with a PU sponge. It is injected in ABS to guarantee perfect compatibility with the cream.

A foolproof patent
To meet the brand's need for an ultra-protective pack that's easy to pack and convenient to use, Texen Beauty Partners has opted for the exclusivity of a Korean industrial partner. This partner has developed a patented airless system based on an inverted piston that descends to dispense the cream, rather than the other way round. In addition to providing absolute protection for the product, this system increases its restitution rate.
Another subtlety in favor of easier packaging for the brand: the case is delivered in 2 components, "fillable" from the bottom before snapping the shutter.

 Absolute cleanliness
This box has been designed to guarantee real hygiene quality:
- The label positioned on the formula's outlet orifices ensures tamper-evidence before first use.
- The formula's smooth, generous dispensing platform makes for easy, clean gripping.

Ensuring optimum hygiene conditions, this pack combines air-tightness, optimal restitution and application, and practicality of use in all circumstances thanks to its pocket format (11.5 ml capacity).
