[podcast] The end of sleepless nights

Sleep disorders - Sleeping

Veeva and Industries Cosmétiques are launching a new podcast dedicated to the day-to-day work of those involved in the cosmetics industry. Resolutely practical and short, each episode responds concretely to a problem encountered by cosmeticians. The first episode is devoted to training.

Here are the first two questions from the first episode! The rest is in the podcast!

The first episode focuses on employee training in the cosmetics industry. A vital and worrying subject. Yet you're announcing the end of sleepless nights. But how?
David Aegeus (1): As far as training is concerned, I can't count the number of hours spent trying to find a solution to simple questions like :
- What do employees need to know to do their job well?
- Besides, how do I get a list of what he needs to know?
- How can I be sure that he's done his training properly, and above all that he's retained the essentials?
- How do I manage changing needs?

And then, after having dried up on these questions, we say to ourselves: ah, but safety, we also need to train employees in safety according to what they do. And then HR, and then, and then, and then....
It's complicated!
And why sleepless nights? Because it's important, even critical! Important for your organization's performance, and critical on the day of audits and inspections. You can't afford to fall short in this area.

So how do you go about it?
David Aegeus: The only way to combine simplicity and performance is to implement dedicated IT solutions.
Pragmatic and reliable, they ensure that everyone has the prerequisites for a good workstation.

IES Ingredients expands its range of natural aromatic raw materials

Cosmetic industry - Industry
Expert in the distribution of raw materials serving professionals in the perfume, cosmetics and food flavoring industries, IES Ingredients becomes the distributor of Albert Vieille, a specialist in natural aromatic raw materials, for Europe, the Middle East and Africa from July 1, 2020.

IES Ingredients has been distributing essential ingredients for perfumes, cosmetics and food flavors for almost 30 years. The company has forged distribution partnerships with the world leaders in these markets in terms of raw material quality and responsibility (CSR). It has been a Givaudan distributor since 1993 for fragrances and flavors, and a DSM PCA (Personal Care & Aroma) distributor for sunscreens, vitamins, cosmetic actives and aromatic ingredients. Since 2015, it has also been distributing raw materials for Xinrui Aromatics, a Givaudan joint venture. Closely associated with its partners' R&D as well as consumer research, it is able to supply brands with the trendiest ingredients.

Committed to developing its portfolio of natural materials to meet the growing demands of its customers, the company is proud to announce its new partnership with Albert Vieille, a historic Grasse company, founded in 1920, specializing in essential oils.

Albert Vieille has developed its expertise in the distillation and extraction of local fragrance plants such as Neroli, Rose and Iris. Over the years, the company has built up long-lasting, reliable relationships with its agricultural partners around the world.

As a result of this new partnership, the IES ingredient palette will be enriched from July 1st with around 100 natural aromatic raw materials (essential oils, absolutes, essences, resinoids and floral waters). Key ingredients include Centifolia rose from Grasse, Spanish Cistus with its warm, resinous scent, and incense from Somalia.

In addition to distributing these raw materials for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the company will also be responsible for warehousing, supply logistics and sample dispatch.

"As a distributor representing our manufacturers in their markets, our mission is to offer the highest level of expertise, the greatest reactivity, and a tailor-made service. We share Albert Vieille's commitment to ethics, integrity and the environment. Our common goal is to provide the perfume, cosmetics and food flavoring industries with the best natural products, while maintaining competitive prices", explains Noël Poinsignon, IES Ingredients Deputy Managing Director, about this new partnership.

Recently ISO9001-certified and Ecovadis-assessed, certifications that guarantee quality, IES Ingredients has been a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact since May 2019. The company will be moving to its new premises in 2021, in order to multiply storage capacity by 5 and thus be able to accommodate even more references while delivering to its customers in record time. Three new laboratories (Flavors, Fragrances, Cosmetics) will also be set up, enabling IES Ingredients to develop tailor-made presentation kits to reinforce its advisory role with customers.

Luxe pack Monaco will be held in late November and early December

Forum Grimaldi - LUXURY PACK MONACO

Initially scheduled for September 28, 29 and 30, 2020, the luxury goods packaging trade show has exceptionally moved to November 30, December 1 and 2, 2020.

Adapting and keeping pace with the recovery

Over the years, Luxe Pack Monaco has established itself on the international scene as the largest gathering of packaging suppliers selected for their ability to follow the briefs of the most demanding and creative brands. The scene of numerous launches each year, it is an ideal working platform for all brands, offering them large-scale demonstrations and technical insights to fuel their inspiration and provide them with cutting-edge industrialization solutions.

Affected this year by the Covid-19 crisis, many packaging manufacturers and luxury brands have seen their launch cycles turned upside down. That's why Luxe Pack has decided to support the profession and follow this shift to position itself on November 30, December 1 and 2, 2020 at the Grimaldi Forum. This new timing will enable the entire community to be in phase to promote the industry's economic recovery.

In so doing, the show will also benefit more widely from the reopening of borders.

An edition under the banner of sobriety and efficiency

In the post-covid economic climate that is affecting most companies in this industry, the organizers are proposing a sober edition: a line of simple, high-quality turnkey stands will be offered to exhibitors who wish to use them as an alternative to building their own traditional stands.

The 2020 vintage will be more studious and operational than ever: the organizers will make all the rooms of the Grimaldi Forum available to brands, who will thus be able to take advantage of their visit to organize working sessions with their manufacturers and partners in conditions of optimum confidentiality and comfort: briefs, demonstrations, project reviews...

Luxe Pack and its 470 selected exhibitors offer an inspiring traditional show and confidential meeting spaces: an ultra-efficient working platform for brands anxious to save precious time for their current and future developments.

In addition, the organizers are maintaining the exceptional measures previously announced, such as reduced room rates in most hotels.

A digital platform will complement the 3 days of physical trade fairs to boost exhibitors' visibility and contacts on a global scale. This platform will link the communities already created around the Monaco, New York, Los Angeles and Shanghai shows, considerably expanding the potential for exhibitor networking. It will also serve as an international sounding board for show content: launches, innovations, analyses, trends and expert interviews.

Strict sanitary measures

The organization and the Grimaldi Forum will be setting up a system that complies with the highest levels of hygiene and sanitary safety, from Nice airport to the show, to ensure a safe and serene experience. Thanks to all these initiatives, which are resolutely proactive and tailored to the current situation, Luxe Pack 2020 looks set to be a key event in accelerating the industry's recovery.

A committed and natural cosmetic

Cosmetic industry - Somatoline

capture742- Formulation - Product InfoClaire Laborde, creator of the brand À la claire fontaine, offers more than just a range of products. With a degree in industrial cosmetology, Claire Laborde first worked as a formulator and then as a cosmetics R&D manager. After two years of R&D for her, Claire Laborde decided to create her own brand. The À la claire fontaine adventure began in 2013. The opportunity to convey the founding values of the brand. Refillable skincare products. Zero waste. Made in France and promoting the French flower. Inside the packaging that reduces the plastic footprint, the ingredients are of natural origin for at least 98 %.

Sensoriality is not left out. For example, a duo facial mask and exfoliant (Joli minois) takes us to the orchards of Isère and Vaucluse. This treatment is made of apple water and you can feel it! The exfoliation is obtained with almond shell powder. Sunflower oil, salt and glycerin complete the formula with a naturalness rate of 99.5 %.

In order to reduce its ecological footprint, the brand has opted for refillable bottles. Customers can buy their refills in the form of cartons and participate in the preservation of resources...

As for distribution, the brand has also made a conscious choice. Short circuit or nothing! Home sales are favored and the online store allows for easy restocking. The saleswomen, called ambassadors, go out to meet customers and take the time to tell them what is hidden in the bottles...

" Our wish is to offer a range of cosmetics in our image, simple and natural, bringing pleasure and well-beingsays Claire Laborde. We wanted the range to be designed to limit its environmental impact. "With only 12 products and solidly anchored values, a la claire fontaine tries to never be forgotten.

The Evoclassic by Aptar pump on Neopac tube adopted by Uriage

Uriage Age Protect Multi Action Cream SPF30 40 ml - Uriage

Aptar Beauty + Home, the world leader in distribution systems for the cosmetics industry, is now offering an innovative solution to protect the most delicate formulas in a practical and lightweight packaging. Age Protect Instant Multi-correction Filler-Care is the first Uriage skin care product to benefit from a skin care pump on tube, developed by Aptar in partnership with Neopac.
This mobile packaging, very popular with consumers, preserves the formula and ensures ultra-precise dosage.

An ultra precise airless skincare solution

The Evoclassic by Aptar pump combined with the Neopac tube offers Uriage an airless packaging solution with multiple benefits: a considerably easier dosage compared to a classic tube, a protection of the formula against external agents thus limiting the number of preservatives present in the composition of the care product and a barrier against drying or oxidation of the formula, thus preserving its effectiveness.
The result is a practical, clean and hygienic product that works 360°, regardless of its position. Ideal for touch-ups throughout the day without denaturing the formula and without any mess.

A high performance tube

Its "Polyfoil" tube, developed by the tube maker NEOPAC, contains an aluminum layer that also protects the formula from light, air, water vapor and substance migration.
It also has a non-stick inner layer that makes it easy to remove the last remaining product without leaving any in the tube.
