Axium Packaging integrates its new production site in the Saint-Etienne region

Axium Packaging, specialized in the manufacture of jars, bottles and closures in PET, recycled PET, biosourced PET & PP, PCR PP for the Hygiene-Beauty and Agri-food markets, has finalized the move of its head office and subsidiaries Acti Pack and Loire Plastic Industrie to its new site in Saint-Etienne (F-42).

Following the acquisition of a 22,000 m² industrial building in the 1st half of 2021, the site has been redeveloped to accommodate Axium Packaging's head office, as well as the production plants of Acti Pack, a specialist in PET and RPET jars and bottles, and Loire Plastic Industrie, a specialist in the plastic injection of caps and closures.

The site now employs over 175 people.

Thanks to the strong commitment of all Axium Packaging employees and subcontractors, six months of fit-out and compliance work will have been enough to enable the three companies to move into the new site by the end of 2021, representing a total investment of 16 million euros.

After a transitional period to ensure that the move to the new premises went smoothly, both production units are now back up and running, enabling them to resume deliveries to their customers as quickly as possible. Loire Plastic Industrie's new 4,000 m² production hall features 25 automated and computerized injection molding machines, a tooling preparation and maintenance area, and a finishing area for custom assembly and packaging.

On the Acti Pack side, the new 5,500 m² production workshop has seen the installation of 25 injection-blow molding machines equipped with automatic packaging lines.

In addition, a tool maintenance area completes the new facility.

In addition to these developments, new shared storage solutions are available to meet the needs of the Group's strategic development: an 11,000 m² storage hall with capacity for up to 12,000 pallets of finished products and all the raw materials and components required for production.

Computerized stock management ensures traceability and FIFO management of all products.

On this new site, Acti Pack and Loire Plastic Industrie plan to increase their production capacity by more than 15%. New Industry 4.0-oriented equipment was added to both production workshops at the start of 2022.

This growth is underpinned by the creation of new jobs to strengthen our operational and administrative departments, with a large number of vacancies in our various departments.

Already complementary in their plastic packaging offerings, Acti Pack and Loire Plastic Industrie benefit from a merger that strengthens their product and service offering and their development synergies.

Axium Packaging sees this growth as a further step in its CSR approach:

- strengthen its sustainable development policy in favor of reducing the environmental impact of its packaging by using recycled and biosourced materials and eco-designing its products,

- standardize its code of ethics to ensure a common ethical and sustainable corporate policy, and reinforce the sharing of its commitments and values with all its employees and partners.

The expansion of the two subsidiaries strengthens the position of the Axium Packaging Group, which has five production sites across Europe. Axium Packaging currently employs around 380 people at its various European sites, with consolidated sales for 2021 of 62.8 million euros.
