FF awards Dominique Ropion the prestigious title of Master Perfumer

International Flavors & Fragrances Inc (NYSE: IFF) (Euronext Paris: IFF), a leading innovator of sensory experiences that move the world, has named Dominique Ropion Master Perfumer.
This nomination by the company is a recognition given to perfumers who have demonstrated a continuous and extraordinary level of creativity and expertise in the field of perfumery, as well as exceptional leadership and a significant impact on the fragrance industry. Dominique Ropion is the second perfumer within IFF to receive this prestigious title, created in 2013.
IFF welcomes people who go further and harder to pursue their art with passion and, in so doing, revolutionize our industry. "says Andreas Fibig, Chairman and CEO of IFF. " During his 17 years with us, Dominique has consistently demonstrated an exceptional level of creativity and passion for his art and for our customers. We congratulate him on all his successes - and look forward to many more to come. ".
Dominique Ropion's path to perfumery began when he was a teenager. Studying physics in class, he worked in a perfume laboratory during his summer vacations and developed a fascination for the art of perfumery. His fascination materialized in the form of an internship, hopefully followed by a job at a perfumery school, where his talent was revealed and developed. He worked in the industry for 18 years before joining IFF in 2000. Since then, he has created or co-created fragrances for some of the perfume industry's most prestigious and iconic brands, including Christian Dior, Thierry Mugler, Lancôme, Givenchy, Frederic Malle, Issey Miyake, Yves Saint Laurent, Paco Rabanne and The Body Shop. However, his designs have not been limited to fragrances for major houses, and he has publicly expressed his fascination and passion for creating fragrances for more mainstream product categories, such as mass market and specialty fragrances.
Dominique Ropion declared: " I feel humbled by this title, and while I'm proud to have created fragrances for prestigious brands around the world, I'm also particularly excited about the road ahead: continuing to discover the world of scents, and training the talents of tomorrow at the IFF perfumery school. ".
Dominique Ropion's other honors include an Oscar from Cosmétique Magazine in 2010, the title of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2012, and the prestigious Prix International du Parfum Cosmetic Valley in 2008 (formerly Prix François Coty). At IFF, he counts among his successes the Scent Design School and his work on evaluating and developing new molecules.
Dominique has always been considered one of the masters of our industry. "says Nicolas Mirzayantz, Group President, Fragrances. " He is known for enjoying the challenges posed by all aspects of perfume creation, using his insatiable thirst for learning and his desire to be challenged outside his comfort zone. His innate curiosity, extensive knowledge of perfume history, commitment to the highest standards of craftsmanship and enthusiasm for sharing his expertise with the next generation are known and deeply appreciated by our entire creative team. ". Nicolas Mirzayantz continues: " I am proud to welcome Dominique as IFF's new Master Perfumer, and congratulate him on his lasting contribution to the perfume industry. ".
