Spim 2024: skin physiology researchers get together

The 9th edition of the Skin Physiology International Meeting (Spim) will take place on November 21 and 22, 2024 at the Palais des Congrès in Vichy (03). This event, organized every two years by the Greentech corporate foundation, highlights the latest research in skin physiology.

Since 2008, the Skin Physiology International Meetingthe Greentech Foundation's biennial international scientific congress, aims to share results, analyses, hypotheses and investigative methods from a variety of disciplines, without dogmatic positions. It brings together experts from all specializations, from all countries, and encourages cross-collaboration to advance understanding of skin physiology.

This 2024 edition will focus on four main themes: skin homeostasis, the skin barrier, emerging concepts in skin physiology and skin aging. Once again this year, the Greentech Awards will be presented to two participants. The best junior scientist will receive 15,000 euros, the best poster 4,000 euros, to encourage the younger generation of scientists to pursue their research.

Spim & International Journal Of Cosmetic Science partnership

The International Journal of Cosmetic Science (IJCS ) was founded in 1979. In 2023, with an impact factor of 2.7, it ranked 33rd out of the 94 journals grouped under the Dermatology umbrella. It is also the leading peer-reviewed journal in the field of cosmetics, ranking 2nd out of six cosmetics journals.

Nearly 12,000 institutions offer access to IJCS via a Wiley license, and over 500,000 full texts were downloaded last year. Journal objectives: "present current scientific research, both pure and applied in the fields of cosmetics, toiletries, perfumery and related areas." The instructions given to authors also specify that "items must have a clear link to cosmetic applications and be useful for them."

Greentech reminds us that science progresses through trial and error, through contradictory debate, leaving no room for consensus. The Spim conference and the IJCS give scientists the opportunity to express themselves and share their ideas, knowledge and research in complementary ways at a high scientific level.

A Spim presenter will thus be able to publish his or her work in open access in a forthcoming issue of IJCS. He or she will be selected on the basis of the usual criteria for submission to the journal, as well as demonstration of a significant advance in the field of cosmetic science.
