Michel Limongi adopts the iconic COSMOGEN brush

Shaving brush - Make-up brush

Architect and beauty designer Michel Limongi has adopted Cosmogen's iconic Fan brush, which he will present at amakeup telier on the Cosmogen stand #J36 on Thursday, June 22 at 3:30 p.m. on the salon Make Up in Paris.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, this double-fan brush with its double bristle length has been specifically designed by Cosmogen engineers. Its easy grip inspires a new, supple gesture that naturally tames facial contours, revealing areas of light and shadow with natural elegance. All Face Fan, as Michel Limongi calls it, is the magician of complexion brushes.
''This double-sided fan required the creation of an innovative make-up method to achieve all complexion styles: bronzing, blush, strobing, contouring, natural complexion. For me, this double-fan brush is the perfect answer to the difficulties all women face: pressing too hard, picking up too much color, smudging. Its "zero matter" pressure control makes make-up natural, easy, spotless and streak-free" comments Michel Limongi.
Technical specifications : Nose: 2 lengths of synthetic fibers; Handle: PS; Decoration: silk-screen printing

Silab's Algophagyl protects mitochondria for revitalized skin

Haematococcus pluvialis - Astaxanthin

Algophagyl is a new, energizing natural active ingredient capable of preserving mitochondrial balance and function, restoring radiance and vitality to the skin.
The mitochondrion is the sole generator of cellular energy. Chronic or acute stress can cause it to malfunction, with deleterious effects on the skin.
With Algophagyl, Silab offers an innovative active ingredient that acts on three mitochondrial defense levers:
- mitochondrial quality control ;
- mitochondrial dynamics ;
- mitophagy.

In good health, mitochondria produce the energy needed for cell renewal and the establishment of a dynamic, effective skin barrier.

After 28 days of twice-daily applications and compared to placebo, Algophagyl brightened the skin of Caucasian and Asian volunteers, with a significant increase in L* and ITA° parameters, characteristic of lighter, brighter skin.
In addition to brightening the skin, the active ingredient also acts on the complexion's radiance.
After 14 days of twice-daily applications and in comparison with placebo, Algophagyl formulated at 2% in emulsion :
- improves skin radiance by 5.3% ;
- revives the pink color, characteristic of a fresh complexion, of 7.7% ;
- decreases olive color by 6.1% ;
- reduces eye fatigue by 7.1%.
This effect continues after 28 days of application.
A subjective evaluation by volunteers confirms these data: 100% of them find their skin revitalized, brighter and more supple.

Because microalgae are the origin of life, Silab's research has focused on their metabolic and adaptogenic properties to protect mitochondria.
Rich in glucans and galactans, Algophagyl (INCI name : Chlorella sorokiniana Extract) is derived from the microalgae Chlorella sorokinianaproduced industrially in Silab's biotechnology unit. Growing this microalgae heterotrophically, i.e. in the absence of light, requires it to synthesize specific molecules of interest with high added value.
Obtained through a non-denaturing manufacturing process, Algophagyl is a patented active ingredient, available in aqueous solution (recommended dose: 0.5 to 2%), and compliant with the main cosmetics regulations (Europe, United States, Japan).

1st prize in the Corpo 35 competition

Serge Lutens - ISIPCA

ISIPCA is in the spotlight at the Corpo 35 competition. This competition for new noses supports the art of perfumery and rewards the most virtuous perfume designers. Among the 5 winners of the competition, 4 have benefited from the quality of ISIPCA's teaching.
Just like haute couture or haute gastronomy, high-niche perfumery brings together precious know-how, powerful traditions, a few manufacturing secrets and a taste for excellence down the ages. It is to support and highlight these strong values that ISIPCA has committed itself as a partner to the Corpo 35 competition initiated by 35 rue damiette.

On June 8, La belle parfumerie celebrated the 5 new noses of the year, whose creations will be manufactured and distributed by Jovoy and 35 rue damiette perfumeries.
Chaired by Sophie Labbé, the jury awarded 5 perfume prizes, including 4 to students or graduates trained at ISIPCA.

1st prize: Anne Dussourt: After a DUT and then a bachelor's degree in chemistry, Anne continued her studies with the ISIPCA Master's in Formulation and Sensory Evaluation, which she completed in 2017. She is currently a formulation and evaluation apprentice at Nactis Flavours in Chartres.

2nd prize: Tanguy Guesnet: After a degree in chemistry, Tanguy continued his studies with the ISIPCA Master's in Formulation and Sensory Evaluation, which he completed in 2017. He is currently a Scient Technology and Innovation Fine Fragance apprentice at IFF in Neuilly.

5th prize: Sabah Dihmane: Sabah attended a continuing education course at ISIPCA in 2005: olfactory analysis of perfumes. She currently works as an assistant perfumer.

The Cent Degrés communications agency rounded off the New Nose of the Year awards with two prizes, won by two ISIPCA graduates: the Poetry Prize for Axelle Frachon, and the Creativity Prize for Avana Rakotomanana.

"We love, we support. Encouraging vocations is a challenge. ISIPCA actively supports the Corpo 35 competition, in particular through our logistical and scientific expertise. Nurturing new talent is an integral part of our DNA. Developing creativity is one of the key elements of the perfume industry. It's also a skill that we develop in our students who are destined for the olfactory professions." Cécile Ecalle Montier, ISIPCA Managing Director.

Eleven projects won the 2017 Lush Spring Prize

Cosmetic industry - Industry

Eleven projects, from Brazil to Zimbabwe, have won the Lush Spring Prize 2017. They received a total of £200,000, to be shared between them, to support their work for environmental and social regeneration.

The winners demonstrated the variety of methods that can be put in place to create a more regenerative society: from restoring degraded landscapes to creating platforms that give a voice to marginalized communities. One of the winners, the Timbaktu Collective, received an award for its work in the Anantapur district of southern India, a drought-affected region currently facing an ecologically challenging situation. Since 1991, Timbaktu has worked with 20,763 families on community conservation, nature restoration and social and economic emancipation. The Collective's work presents viable models for "making markets work for poor people" and the environment.
Siddharth Rao, Timbaktu's Director of Ecology and Conservation commented: "Nothing is more important than maintaining a healthy relationship with nature and the environment. As a society, we forget that it was in our interest to take this into account in our quest for development and profit.

The Spring Prize tends to show once again that collective action and community-led efforts are appreciated and valuable."

The winners of the 2017 Lush Spring Prize received their awards at a two-day event at Emerson College in East Sussex, England. Emerson College is surrounded by organic farms that illustrate the regenerative practices embedded in the economy of some of England's rural areas.

Videos and images of the event are available on springprize.org

Regeneration is the key to preserving livelihoods and economies for future generations, and to helping damaged environments and communities. It is made possible by holistic systems designed to create "win-win" scenarios, where people work in harmony with nature and each other.
The Lush Spring Prize 2017 was created to support this approach.

Silab and the segmentation of the dermis and its matrisome

Logo - Brand

The work of Silab's advanced research department and Dr Florence Ruggiero's* research team on dermal segmentation and its matrisome has been recognized by the international scientific community with the publication of a letter to the editor in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology (JID).

A major scientific discovery on the papillary and reticular dermis

The upper dermis, known as the papillary dermis, and the deeper dermis, known as the reticular dermis, are structurally and functionally different. Fibroblasts, the cells responsible for extracellular matrix synthesis, are thought to be at the origin of this segmentation.
"Segmentation of the dermis is a biological research signature dear to Silab " says Brigitte Closs, Executive Vice President, Research and Development, Silab. "When we started working on this subject in 2007, we naturally approached Dr Florence Ruggiero, CNRS Research Director, and her collaborators, recognized worldwide for their expertise in extracellular matrix biology."
Dr Florence Ruggiero's research team and the Silab advanced research department have demonstrated for the first time the signature of a specific gene expression in papillary and reticular fibroblasts in relation to the matrisome, defined as the set of genes coding for extracellular matrix proteins and its associated proteins.
"This letter to the editor in one of the most prestigious scientific dermatology journals is indisputable recognition of the quality of the research work carried out by the two teams. It reinforces our expertise in this field and opens up new prospects for the development of innovative, high-performance natural cosmetic solutions, particularly in the fight against skin ageing. It could also have bioengineering repercussions of skin substitutes to make them ever closer to the physiological reality of the skin." concludes Brigitte Closs.

Texen plays up the youthful effect for Dior's Hydra Life

Dior wanted to give its Hydra Life skincare line a new design to appeal to a decidedly younger target. The brand entrusted the creation of the cap to Texen. The result is a pure white cap and a material that's soft to the touch, in the image of fresh, creamy skincare.
Packed with natural active ingredients with targeted actions, Dior's Hydra Life skincare range helps to preserve naturally more beautiful skin, while respecting its natural balance. Determined to appeal to the "millenials" generation, who are particularly sensitive to natural skin care, the brand has chosen to give this line a pack with a resolutely fresh, dynamic look. The cap matches a glass jar, revealing the shade of each of the skincare products: masks and creams.

 A smooth hood

In line with the brand's expectations, Texen has designed an oblong, matt-white hood with a very soft feel. It's made from mass-tinted ABS, then lacquered with a satin varnish. The embossed logo is engraved directly into the mold.
Inside, the capsule incorporates a PP insert, perfectly compatible with the formula, with a screw thread that adjusts to the neck. At the bottom, a Triseal gasket guarantees a perfect seal.
To complete the look, the hood features a flush-mounted scallop on the edge of the glass jar.

Only The Brave by Diesel with Groupe Pochet

Perfume - Only The Brave High Eau De Toilette Spray by Diesel

Accompanied by the Pochet Group, which has been combining its multi-material expertise since the launch of this beautiful story, the Diesel brand's emblematic fragrance continues its successful saga.
After superheroes in bright, metallic colors, tattoos and motifs created using Pochet du Courval's expertise in pad printing, and the Extreme version tinted in intense blue, the 2017 edition, "High", this time evokes the strength deployed to reach new heights.
For this edition, inspired by the freshness of the peaks, Pochet du Courval worked with Diesel Parfum's creative teams to develop the ideal shade of lacquer for this new universe. This version is illuminated by an ice-blue varnish concentrated on the phalanges, evoking the reflections of an iceberg: the color is diffused into the iconic bottle with its clenched fist, created by Pochet du Courval with perfect craftsmanship. The galvanized signet ring made by Qualipac gives the bottle its final, signature touch.
