Aptar Beauty strengthens its expertise in aerosol systems with new technology Double Click, The new Twist-to-Lock® technology enhances the inclusivity and reliability of Twist-to-Lock aerosols.

Aptar Beauty, world leader in dispensing systems, unveils its Double Click technology. This new feature is integrated into the Twist-to-Lock range, a collection of cap-less aerosols designed to improve user comfort and ease of use.

A resilient, competitive market

The global market for Bag-on-Valve (BOV) valves and systems in the beauty industry is showing a solid recovery after a post-COVID slowdown. Growth prospects remain favorable, thanks in particular to the dynamism of the hair care sector. This growth is stimulated by consumers' ever-increasing demands for safety, practicality and sensoriality.

Double Click technology: enhanced inclusivity and reliability

Double Click technology provides a distinctive audible signal to confirm that the system is either locked or unlocked. Combined with tactile cues such as textured areas, this feature enhances confidence and ease of use for all users. The ergonomic design and smooth rotary movement of the pushbuttons ensure safe operation for consumers with varying levels of motor skills.

Aerosols equipped with Double Click technology comply with Amazon's ISTA-6 testing protocols, minimizing the risks associated with logistical constraints, such as leaks and accidental actions.

The capless design of Twist-to-Lock aerosols reduces resin use by up to 55 % compared with conventional systems. What's more, these devices are POM-free, with some incorporating up to 100 % of recycled content (PCR). The collection offers a wide range of valves and aerators that can be combined with different designs to meet brand needs.

Aptar Beauty guarantees a local production approach for its partners, reducing delivery times and the carbon footprint associated with transport.

Tests show that Kalidex provides a 30 to 45 % increase in foam height, contributing to a fuller foam when used.

Osmolya: a new bio-inspired active ingredient from Expanscience

Expanscience unveils Osmolya, a naturally-derived active ingredient optimizing cellular hydration, at In-Cosmetics Global 2026.

At In-Cosmetics Global 2026, Laboratoires Expanscience are presenting Osmolya, a new bio-inspired active ingredient designed to boost skin and hair hydration. This extract, found in Iresine weberbaueri, a plant endemic to Peru, is designed to improve cellular osmoregulation.

A bio-inspired active ingredient to meet modern hydration challenges

Osmolya is a water-soluble extract rich in betaine (≥13%) and polyphenols (≥6%), key molecules in the protection against osmotic, oxidative and inflammatory stress. Like Iresine w. Osmolya :

  • activates cellular response to osmotic stress
  • increases expression and production of osmolyte transporters (TAUT, SMIT and BGT1)
  • improves the skin barrier, by stimulating its key markers (HAS3, TGAS1, involucrin) and increasing the expression of occludin
  • reduces osmotic stress-induced cell damage, significantly reducing inflammation and oxidative stress

This triple action positions Osmolya as an active ingredient capable of meeting the growing need for cellular hydration.

Proven effectiveness on the skin

Clinical studies carried out on a multi-ethnic panel reveal that Osmolya at 2% improves skin hydration from the very first hour, with lasting results over time. These results were confirmed by corneometry evaluations and PIE analysis on the face. Evaluations also show a reduction in dryness, desquamation and roughness.

Analyses also show a significant improvement in the thickness of the stratum corneum, measured by Raman spectroscopy, confirming its role in strengthening the skin barrier. Volunteers reported an increased perception of hydration as early as 3 days, confirmed after 28 days of use.

Proven effectiveness on hair, too

Osmolya also acts on the hair fiber thanks to its richness in osmolytes and polyphenols:

  • moisturizes hair from within, increasing the fraction of water strongly bound to the hair fiber
  • strengthens hair fiber
  • significantly reduces frizz and improves curl definition on type 3A strands

Compliant with Cosmos and Natrue standards, Osmolya meets international standards for naturalness, quality and transparency, guaranteeing that the ingredient is derived from natural raw materials and transformed using environmentally-friendly processes.

An innovation perfectly aligned with Expanscience's CSR vision

Armelle Le Peniec, Director of Cosmetic and Nutraceutical Assets at Laboratoires Expanscience, says: « Thanks to its bio-inspired nature and multi-benefit efficacy, Osmolya embodies Laboratoires Expanscience's ambition to develop eco-designed active ingredients for well-being that are increasingly inspired by nature and the living world. "

Roquette launches four innovations in its Beauté by Roquette range, dedicated to improving the sensory and textural performance of cosmetic products.

Roquette has announced the launch of four new solutions in its Beauté by Roquette range. These innovations, presented at in-cosmetics Global 2026 in Paris, include Beauté by Roquette DS 700 and three premium alginates.

Launch of a premium range of marine alginates

Alginates Beauté by Roquette AG 215, AG 219 and AG 291, derived from renewable brown algae, are biodegradable and supported by recognized responsible sourcing programs. These alginates offer a variety of gelling behaviors, from viscous or elastic gels to firmer structures, enabling formulators to design innovative textures and enhance the user experience. Specifically, AG 215 is suitable for gel and stick formats, AG 219 has suspension properties, and AG 291 acts as a viscosifying agent. All three also offer a refreshing effect and a light sensation on the skin.

Beauté by Roquette DS 700 represents a technological breakthrough in vegan softgels, enabling high-end packaging to be customized in terms of shape, size and color. Based on starch, this biodegradable solution is an alternative to gelatin capsules of animal origin, while preserving sensitive active ingredients. As a high-performance film-forming agent, DS 700 ensures water resistance of 100 % in suncare and make-up, outperforming existing starch-based solutions.

These launches, integrated with the range expansion announced in March 2026, bring new possibilities for sensory design and product performance.
